Pearl and Hematite Hoops

These are beautiful hoops- simple and elegant.

They are the perfect complement to my black and white necklace, and while they don't detract from the focal piece, they are absolutely gorgeous on their own.

These are made from natural pearls and a hematite bead.

A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever!!!

This is a piece I labored on for quite a while from start to completion. Two needles and several beads later, it was ready. I had bought the focal agate piece about ten months ago. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I wanted to enhance the beauty of the stone by embellishing it. I really looked forward to completing this piece, especially as it took so long. I could finally see my vision come to life and I must say that I am very happy with the end result.

The frame of fresh water pearls, seed beads of silver, grey and black colors focus the attention on the pendant. The chain of fresh water pearls and hematite adds to the overall necklace without detracting from the pendant.

The ends are embellished with silver accents and a beautiful clasp.

This piece will enhance any outfit, casual or formal.

Linking Pearls Together

This is an old piece back from the time that I started making jewelry. It's a beautiful strand of pearls linked with silver links. I used silver wire to link these beautiful fresh water pearls together. This is a classic style which is always in fashion and adds grace and elegance to any outfit.

I believe a strand of good pearls is a must in one's jewelry collection. It is just like that set of black trousers one should have in their closet.  Something that can be worn for any occasion.

Classic Black and White

I made this set for a friend and I am glad she really liked it. This has possibly been my toughest project thus far. This was because I had to try at least a dozen times before I got the lace around the focal piece right. I was finally able to make the pendant I had envisioned. The inspiration came from the focal stone. This is a beautiful stone focal (I forget the name of the stone). The surface is beautifully polished, almost reflective. Once I had the main piece, the ideas just flowed and the necklace was born. I am extremely pleased with the end result.

The necklace is made of cultured fresh water pearls and czech black crystals.

This is how it looks when you turn it around, so it can be worn either way.

I didn't want the earrings to take the attention away from the necklace, but also wanted them to have their own presence and I think they do. The earrings are simple and elegant pearl and black crystal drops.

Pearls for Little Girls

Its been a long time since I updated the jewelry blog. I have so many projects to share, but haven't really taken the time to take pictures. I finally did take a picture of one of my recent recent projects and here it is.

This is a delicate pearl necklace with petite earrings for a little girl. My friend had bought a link of pearls for her daughter. I offered to convert it into a necklace for her so that she could use it. Well, the necklace was quite easy as the pearls were already linked, but I decided to use two of those pearls to make small earrings as well. This way she would have a set. It turned out really well and I am looking forward to seeing pictures of her little one wearing this.

Pearl Swirl

I had seen a photograph of my cousin wearing a beautiful garland like necklace. I decided to try and make something similar. After hunting for several days I found the perfect pearls for my project. Purple, green and white potato pearls. So, I finally sat down to make my project. At that point in time, I just couldn't recall the design so I decided to arrange the beads and see what patterns would emerge. The final result was a double stranded necklace which looks absolutely gorgeous.

 The earrings are in progress.

Black Beauty

This piece was completely inspired by a necklace my mom has had for over 30 years now. It was given to her by my grand father and one that I admired tremendously. It probably has the prettiest clasp I have seen. I recently restrung it for my mom and decided to try and make one for myself.

I searched for a pretty clasp and then bought faceted Onyx beads gradually decreasing in size. Next step was to string the beads together. What I like about this particular piece is that it can be worn as a regular necklace or as an asymmetric necklace with the clasp showing, or with the clasp as the pendant.

The earrings are dangling and simple.

All that glitters...

I had beautiful mother of pearl beads which I had been thinking about for a while, but had been unable to come up with a unique design. I recently bought some beautiful brown faceted beads as well. (Oh, how they shine!!) Now I must say that this design was not a sudden inspiration. I wanted to do something special with the brown beads. The insipiration again was an outfit with the same colors. I realised that these complement each other so beautifully, I had to put them together. Naturally, the next challenge was to come up with the design and I must say I did struggle with it. It took me over three weeks to work out the design.

The earrings were also a challenge. Since the mother of pearl beads are a good size, I didn't want to make a dangle and I also wanted to add the brown beads to create a well matched set. So working out the balance of the earrings without making them heavy was very tricky. I am extremely happy and satisfied with the final result!

Here is the complete set.

Jade and Jasper

I travelled to Tucson recently to attend the annual gem and jewelry show. It was just fascinating and I picked up some gorgeous beads and stones. One of them was a Jasper collar. The bright pink was just riveting and the finish on the stones was beautiful, each piece glinting in the light. The color was so unusual that I found it hard to come up with a design which would be trendy yet casual and which would showcase these beautiful stones.

I had my eureka moment when I came upon a shirt I had bought recently. The beautiful green shade reminded me of a jade necklace that I had been planning to restring. Well, as they say, the rest is history and this beautiful piece was created.

The earrings have been created from two trapezoidal stones and are stud earrings.

Roses are Red

The closest I can come to wearing actual roses would be through this lovely deep red necklace. I bought these beads at a jewelry show a few months ago. Being faceted glass beads, these range from a bright red to the deep dark red that can be seen in the pictures here. The stark contrast between the red and the golden color emphasis the beauty of these beads.

Dangling drop earrings are perfect with this necklace. The absence of gold beads in these makes the necklace a focal point.

Pink and Gold Vine

It gives me great joy to see the end result of a creative burst. I visited a beads show a few months ago and found these beautiful firepolished czech beads. The two tone beads shimmered with shades of pink and gold and I was just drawn to them. I must have experimented a hundred ways with them before finalizing a design. Showcasing the beautiful beads was important and a vine design in a greeting card was the source of inspiration.

I used gold filled wire to create the vine and the leaves are these beautiful two tone beads. The beads reflect off light so beautifully, its a viewing pleasure.

I am still in the process of creating earrings to go with it. I think I will keep them small and delicate, matching the vine design.

Golden Filigree on a White Canvas

Many a time I pick up beads and pieces that I fall in love with but it may take a while before I can find the perfect way to use them. I bought some gold plated filigree beads on a trip almost six years ago. I was finally able to use them in a piece which does them justice.

I wanted to highlight the filigree work with this piece and found these perfectly round smooth white stones to create the background, making the gold beads the focal point. Alternating are small golden beads which tie in all the components together.

Dangling earrings complement the necklace.

Valentine's Pink

The one color associated with every girl is pink (whether the girl likes it or not). Come Valentine day  and one is surrounded by a flood of red roses and flowers in every shade of pink. So I thought this would be a perfect post for this occassion.

This knotted necklace is made of pink quartz and red coral stone chips. The shades of pink accentuated by the red coral make it look very flowery and casual.

Browns, Reds and Pearls Delight

I was inspired by a beautiful agate necklace I had seen in an American Indian jewelry shop and decided to try out a new technique I was reading about. This turned out to be an intricate, labor and time intensive project but well worth the end result. It is a matinee necklace about 20 inches in length. I have used red agate chips, amber chips and cultured pearls. The necklace is knotted through the length and accented by a pendant which is woven together by the same cord.

The earrings finish the ensemble and are woven in the same pattern as the pendant.

Swaroski Crystals and Chandelier Earrings

Its been a while since I last wrote a blog post but not for a lack of trying. I have had this one composed for a few weeks now and was waiting to take photographs of some of the projects. And so it remained incomplete and waiting to be posted.

Finally, having taken pictures I expect to update this blog more often now and also to take pictures as soon as I finish a project.

Presented here is a strand of white Swarowski crystals ending in a silver plated clasp embellished with crystals.

Accompanying it are beautiful silver plated chandelier earrings.

This is a simple and elegant design and will complement a cocktail dress as beautifully as it would a casual jeans and tshirt outfit.
