Grey Pearls in a Classic Setting

While this is not my first multi-strand necklace, it is my first two strand necklace which has parallel rows. It is definitely not as easly as it looks. You need to adjust the pearls just right so that the rows run parallel and align correctly.

The beautiful fresh water grey pearls and the swarowski crystal inlays are just timeless and together they form a piece that can be worn for any occasion, on any dress. The sterling silver clasp is the perfect accent which enhances the piece.

I absolutely loved the earrings too. I didn't want to make dangling earrings as the person I made it for doesn't wear danglers.

It is a graceful piece, one of the traditional classics.

Pink and Black - Absolute Elegance

I visited my family recently and thought what better than to take hand made jewelry as gifts. It can't get more personal than that. Before starting on each piece,  I first thought about the person it was for, her likes and dislikes. The next phase was to think of a design which was age appropriate and attractive.

For this piece I decided to go with a design that is timeless and elegant. The pastel pink pearls and decorated black cloissone beads complement each other extremely well.

Though it looks like a simple design, I must confess that the earrings were the biggest challenge. I had to create a base before I could do the beading. I used lessons from the Pearl Flowers to make a strong base and a floral design. It's a great feeling when I can apply lessons learnt from a previously made design to something else.

Pearl Flowers

I finally took pictures of these earrings. I made these a while ago, and I finally got around to putting them on my blog. These earrings go along the necklace in the Pearl Swirl post. They turned out to be very beautiful! I was definitely pleased with the wire wrapping.

The tough part was creating a base for the earrings which could hold the earrings up properly. Being rather large fresh water pearls, the overall earring turned out to be on the heavier. I used a soft leather material to create the base and wove the metal into the leather material.

The earrings and the necklace together dress up any outfit.
