Roses are Red

The closest I can come to wearing actual roses would be through this lovely deep red necklace. I bought these beads at a jewelry show a few months ago. Being faceted glass beads, these range from a bright red to the deep dark red that can be seen in the pictures here. The stark contrast between the red and the golden color emphasis the beauty of these beads.

Dangling drop earrings are perfect with this necklace. The absence of gold beads in these makes the necklace a focal point.

Valentine's Pink

The one color associated with every girl is pink (whether the girl likes it or not). Come Valentine day  and one is surrounded by a flood of red roses and flowers in every shade of pink. So I thought this would be a perfect post for this occassion.

This knotted necklace is made of pink quartz and red coral stone chips. The shades of pink accentuated by the red coral make it look very flowery and casual.

Browns, Reds and Pearls Delight

I was inspired by a beautiful agate necklace I had seen in an American Indian jewelry shop and decided to try out a new technique I was reading about. This turned out to be an intricate, labor and time intensive project but well worth the end result. It is a matinee necklace about 20 inches in length. I have used red agate chips, amber chips and cultured pearls. The necklace is knotted through the length and accented by a pendant which is woven together by the same cord.

The earrings finish the ensemble and are woven in the same pattern as the pendant.
